Why Should We Bother Remembering Our Dreams?

1. Our dreaming mind has access to information that is not readily available to us when we are awake. Our dreams may reveal our secret desires and subconscious feelings.

2. In remembering our dreams, we will have an increased knowledge about ourselves, about self-awareness and self-healing. Dreams are an extension of how we perceive
ourselves. They can be a source of inspiration, wisdom, and joy.

3. Learning to recall our dreams may help us become a more assertive person. In remembering our dreams, we are expressing and confronting our feelings.

4. Remembering our dreams can help us come to terms with stressful aspects of our lives

I had a dream last night that a small crocodile ate nearly every human being and creature on earth in a terrifying 15 minutes. The thing must have been travelling at about 3,000mph as I remember seeing it whizzing about in the distance eating everything in its path. About five people including me escaped just in time, along with a few lion cubs, some tiger cubs, and a chimpanzee. We all took refuge in a random house somewhere, and had to lock all the windows and doors to stop the crocodile from getting in. The following morning the postman delivered a letter (not quite sure how he was still alive) from another small group of survivors living in a house nearby. Then I woke up.

I'm struggling to decipher the meaning of this dream which, it has to be said, is rather bizarre. Can anyone help?

Anonymous, chase dreams are quite common and often reflect a situation that you are afraid in confronting. The crocodile most likely symbolizes your hidden instincts, repressed anger and destructive feelings.
Another way to view this dream may be your feelings toward some situation or perhaps even a relationship in which you feel suffocated or that is eating you up inside.

The varying surroundings and settings that your chase dreams take place is a clue to your state of mind and reflects what you may be really feeling in your waking life. Houses and buildings typically represent the Self.

To see a crocodile in your dream forewarns of hidden danger. Someone near you is giving you bad advice and is trying to sway you into poor decisions. The crocodile may be an aspect of yourself and your aggressive and "snappy" attitude. Or maybe it reveals that you have displayed some false emotions and shedding "crocodile tears".

Nordmann, first consider your own personal and special associations with the color. Does the color remind you of a particular person, a body part, a childhood toy, or some object. However,
red is an indication of raw energy, force, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations.
Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges.

In general, shoes represent your approach to life. It suggests that you are well-grounded or that you are down to earth. It also represents your convictions about your beliefs. To dream that you are being kicked, indicates that you feel victimized or taken advantage of. The dream may be telling you to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Alternatively, the dream may be trying to push you ahead and motivate you to continue on toward your goals

Hi Spirita

I've had strange dreams involvin a colleague recently. Whenever i wake up, i feel its one of those dreams that meant something significant.

1.I dreamt both of us were sittin down & having a cup of tea together. We had a nice conversation & I dunno why I felt so safe.

2. I dreamt a DJ announced that he asked me for a dance. However on the dance floor, I couldn't see his face but there was a sense of familiarity when we were dancing.

3.I dreamt he was talkin to me & he was starin at my hands & for some strange reason, I didn't wanna look at him in the eye. Then before I knew it, I started running along a corridor. I ended up in a hotel rm & decided to hide in the bathroom. I dunno who I was runnin frm & why but I knew tat someone was goin to come in & find me. I then heard myself say "this is juz a dream" & I knew it all wasn't real. (I was lucid dreaming) Then the occupants of the rm came in & I ran out cos I knew nothing was gonna happen to me.

3.I dreamt we went on a business trip together with a 3rd party. On our return flight he sat in the middle of the 3 of us next to me. Suddenly instead of plane seats, it became beds. I remember him wearing a white top /t-shirt, it was so vivid. I slept with my back facin him. Moments later, he hugged me. I remember I leaned closer into his embrace & I held my breath.

Can you help interpret this? Thanks.

To see your co-worker in your dream, highlights aspects of your waking relationship with him, including difficulties or support. Also a colleague in your dream shows one of your own character resources or problems, depending upon how you relate to the character. Each character trait is a part of the your repertoire of behaviour.

1. This dream signify the unity between varying parts of yourself such as intellect, emotions and senses.

2. This dream is spontaneous expression of inner feelings. If you are dancing with someone it usually shows a loving relationship, or even the prelude to a sexual relationship.

3. This dream might decode that you may be hiding from feeling, or avoiding awareness of something you don't want to see. Also dream means that you are hiding how you really feel about someone, or about your sexual feelings concerning someone.

4. This dream means a leap into the unknown, getting away from your ordinary life, a business endeavour or opportunity. Sometimes it even suggests a search for or move to romance.

Thanks Spirita. Also sometime ago I had dreams that I was due to go somewhere and I missed a flight. And sometimes I'll miss a boat or be delayed due to some silly causes like not booking a ticket. (which I will never forget to do in real life). Or I'll rushing like crazy to get onto a boat with my frens in it and i'll miss them by one min. Things like that. Also just curious - where did you learn dream interpretation from?

Miss Jes, dreams you described often signifies your unconscious feeling that you have left something too late or you have missed out on something. Or perhaps you realise you have not
acted quickly enough to avert a situation or take advantage of it. It can also mean an avoidance of responsibility.
Interpreting a dream is not difficult if you just spend a little time learning the basics. After a short time, with a bit of experience, it becomes easier and easier.

when i wake up on mornings and i just had dreams, i tried to remember my dream as much as i can..

while i am doing this, i somehow manage to remember some of my forgotten past dreams in which happened months or years ago..

it somehow fascinates me that there is a part of our brain wherein it stores all of our dreams. and for me, the key to remember some of my other dreams is the feeling or emotion that you experience during a specific dream..

for example, i had this dream of being lost.. and while i am remembering this dream, i managed to remember the other forgotten dreams that i had before wherein i am also lost..
